Here in the Valley of the Sun, the surest sign that autumn has finally arrived is the return of Rare Wine Week at J&G Steakhouse at The Phoenician. Hosted every October, January and May, J&G’s Rare Wine Week lets wine-loving guests upgrade their traditional Tasting Menu plus wine pairings, (normally $67) to feature the exceedingly rare wines from deep within J&G’s Wine Spectator Awarded wine cellar. And this October 14 – 18, 2019, J&G is proud to serve up signature wines from the world=famous, featuring Rochioli Vineyards and Winery.
Offered nightly for $150 from 5-10 pm, J&G’s Executive Chef Jacques has crafted a gourmet 5-course feast, while GM, Patrick Norton, and Assistant GM and Certified Specialist of Wine, Taylor Chandler, have selected the finest Rochioli wines to pair with each course. “Working with Chef Jacques, Patrick and I have put together a list of exciting, exclusive wines that will not only wow our guests, but each pairs perfectly with our new seasonal Tasting Menu,” Chandler says. “And thanks to our new high-tech wine preservation system, we are able to pour these delicate, decades-old wines, so you can sample multiple rare vintages in a single setting, rather than ordering an entire bottle.”
Rochioli Vineyards and Winery has been growing grapes in the Russian River Valley of Northern California since the late 1950’s. The first estate wine, 1985 Rochioli Pinot Noir, was released in 1987 and was an immediate success by being named Wine Spectator’s “The Best Pinot Noir in America” that year.
